PC Kim Thomas (1327) from the Belgrave Neighbourhood Team was recently invited to Westminster for the Community Alcohol Partnership (CAP) Celebration & Annual Awards 2026, recognising our team’s innovation, dedication, and impact in tackling alcohol‑related harm 🚫🍺.

Held at the Terrace Pavilion, Houses of Parliament, the celebration brought together partnerships from across the UK to acknowledge collective achievements in reducing alcohol-related harm among young people and strengthening community safety.

The CAP Awards spotlight partnerships that have:

Reduced antisocial behaviour in local areas 🛡️

Improved Challenge 25 compliance in retail settings 🆔✅

Strengthened collaboration across agencies—including police, schools, retailers, and community organisations 🤝

What Is CAP?

Community Alcohol Partnerships (CAP) bring together local authorities, police, schools, r

etailers, health services, and community groups to reduce alcohol harm to young people, tackle antisocial behaviour, and promote an alcohol-free childhood where possible.

What is Challenge 25?
A retail policy encouraging staff to request ID from anyone who appears under 25 before selling age‑restricted products like alcohol. It’s a proven way to prevent underage sales and keep communities safer.
